STRATEGO

Test your grey matter

By JAMES ANTHONY

This game is an interesting and challenging mixture between chess and basic forms of strategic battles for up to four players.

You are given a set number of pieces of differing values and have to battle it out against hidden opposition to capture the enemy flag.

The style is 19th century soldiers ranging from fast-moving, lightly damaging scouts, dressed in Polish czapkas, to marshals who, in all their bicorned finery, can kick butt of all but mines.

And as the enemy units are masked in a uniformly easy-to-beat style, this can destroy your battle plan when your marshal gets blown up by a just-uncovered mine.

Stratego is an addictive and enjoyable way to spend time at the computer and if it comes at a reasonable price for a B title then it would be worth investigating.
