PACIFIC GENERAL

Pacific War gets a run

By JAMES ANTHONY

There are many World War II wargames out there, but very few dealing with the bloody and brutal Pacific War.

Just how a nation the size of Japan came so close to capturing almost the whole of the Pacific rim is astounding, as was their ferocity and commitment to victory.

Pacific General lets wargamers take control from China to Australia and features a number of scenarios that include the attack on Pearl Harbour, and hypothetical invasions of Australia and America.

Naval play has been improved over Panzer General and it is terrific to be able to build ships but changes to the way to buy new forces is over complicated and fussy.

Gameplay, as you would expect from this series, is again excellent.

Much better than Allied General and a must for we of the Pacific.
